Photo retouching, restoration and digital artwork a la carte services may be combined to create the images you envision. The information below is only a representative sample of the types of digital imaging services available. If you don't see what you're looking for, ask us!

Retouching

Retouching services are available for select images from your portrait sessions or wedding coverage, as well as your own photos supplied to us in digital format. If you wish us to convert your original photos to digital format, there will be an additional fee. If your photos were taken by another professional photographer, we require written permission from that photographer prior to altering images.

  • Level I retouching to bring images up to studio standards is included in all portrait packages. Minor imperfections, such as blemishes, moles and scars, are retouched unless you request otherwise.

  • Level II retouching is done at additional cost. This retouching includes Level I retouching, plus softening of character lines, enhancement of eyes, lips, teeth and minor figure enhancement.

  • Exensive retouching is covered under Digital Artwork.

Restoration

Restoration brings treasured old photos back to their original condition. Photos may be submitted as digital images or for an additional fee we will convert your photos to digital format for you. Restored images are returned to you in digital format.

  • Level I restoration includes correcting tone, exposure and color in faded images.

  • Level II restoration includes Level I restoration, plus removal of dust & scratches, and fixing of scratches, rips, tears, cracks or staining.

Digital Artwork

Digital artwork is converting, rebuilding, rearranging and re-creating images, often using photographic images as a base and combining these with other art. These services are available for select images from your portrait sessions, as well as your own photos supplied to us in digital format. If you wish us to convert your original photos to digital format, there will be an additional fee. If your photos were taken by another professional photographer, we require written permission from that photographer prior to altering images.

  • Level I digital artwork is used to convert an original image from color to black & white, for combining color with black & white (e.g., sepia toning, "hand-coloring" black & white), for creating vignettes and for applying artistic effects (e.g., watercolor, hand-painted, drawing, poster).

  • Level II digital artwork comprises simple head swaps (same-session shots with identical lighting), simple background changes, simple reconstruction of torn/damaged objects in photo, simple repositioning of objects and any extensive retouching, such as "digital liposuction" or glamour retouching.

  • Level III digital artwork rebuilds your images. This includes any head/body swaps from photos with non-identical lighting or taken in front of anything except a plain background, creation of backgrounds and/or special lighting effects, creation of objects or adding objects or people from another image (compositing) and creating fantasy images.
